Experience Adventure
Mountain High Camp is a unique five-day Christian camp created especially for young adults living with brain injuries. Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Red River, New Mexico, the camp provides a refreshing, joy-filled setting where campers experience friendship, encouragement, adventure, and the love of God.
Mountain High Camp is made possible through the partnership and support of Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas; Faith Mountain Fellowship Church in Red River, New Mexico; Nocona Hills Community Church; Living Waters Fellowship Church; and the Texas District Pilot Club. Together, these organizations help provide a life-changing week where campers are celebrated, supported, and inspired to grow in faith and confidence.
Our Founders
Founded in 1994 by Mike and Charlotte Wilson, Mountain High Camp was established on a foundation of love, faith, and community. For more than two decades, the camp provided a place where young adults living with brain injuries could experience friendship, adventure, and belonging.
In 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic brought camp activities to a temporary pause. Then, in November 2020, Mike went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, servant leadership, and unwavering faith that continues to inspire the Mountain High Camp family.
In 2022, Mountain High Camp joyfully reopened, carrying forward the mission Mike and Charlotte so faithfully began—to create a welcoming community where every camper is valued, encouraged, and loved.

Camp Activities
Every day at Mountain High Camp is filled with opportunities for fun, friendship, worship, and adventure. From inspiring moments of faith to exciting outdoor activities, each experience is designed to encourage campers, build confidence, and create lasting memories.
Sunday Worship Service
The week begins with a heartfelt worship service celebrating God's goodness. Through music, prayer, and a message of hope, campers and volunteers come together in gratitude as they prepare for an unforgettable week.
Morning Devotionals
Each day begins with a peaceful, Christ-centered devotional. Campers and volunteers gather to read Scripture, pray together, and start the morning encouraged, refreshed, and focused on God's love.
Hoedown & Sing-Along
One of the week's favorite traditions! Enjoy an evening of country music, simple line dances, joyful singing, and plenty of laughter as everyone joins in the fun.
Fishing
Spend a relaxing time by the water surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. Whether you catch a fish or simply enjoy the peaceful setting, it's a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends and nature.
Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides
Experience the charm of the Old West with a scenic horse-drawn wagon ride through Red River. The fresh mountain air and beautiful views make this a favorite camp memory.
Shopping in Downtown Red River
Explore the unique shops of historic downtown Red River. Campers enjoy browsing for souvenirs, treats, and gifts while experiencing the welcoming atmosphere of this charming mountain town.
Western Dance
Put on your boots and join the fun! With easy dances, upbeat music, and plenty of smiles, everyone is invited to participate in this lively evening celebration.
Mountaintop Picnic
Ride to the top of the mountain for a picnic surrounded by breathtaking scenery. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy great food, wonderful friends, and the beauty of God's creation.
Games & Recreation
From outdoor activities to indoor favorites, games encourage teamwork, friendly competition, and lots of laughter while creating lasting friendships.
Talent Show
A highlight of every camp week! Campers take the stage to share their unique talents through singing, dancing, comedy, skits, or other performances, all while being enthusiastically cheered on by fellow campers and volunteers.

Baylor Scott & White Rehabilitation
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation--Dallas has been a sponsor of Mountain High since the camp's founding in 1994. The hospital regularly sends six therapists or rehabilitation professionals and two physicians to work with campers in each location. Many former Baylor Scott & White patients are often among those attending the camp, which is open to any adult with a traumatic brain injury. The Dallas hospital is Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation's flagship facility located on the Baylor University Medical Center campus. Located just east of downtown Dallas, Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is nationally ranked as one of the best rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.

Faith Mountain has served as the headquarters for our camp since God birthed it in 1994. The entire facility is given to Mountain High for one week. Most of our meals are at the church as well as morning devotionals and an evening church service. Mountain High Foundation
Mountain High Foundation, a 501c3 organization, was founded in 1995 to provide scholarships for campers requesting funding to attend. It also oversees the coordinating efforts of the other sponsors in an effort to provide the best experience possible for all attending including campers, family members, rehab professional and volunteers. For many years, Mountain High has been referred to as "God's Camp" as the leadership in all areas rely on Him to shower everyone with His blessings and love in the mighty way that only He can provide. Donations also provide funding for operating expenses for the 5-day camp.
Living Waters Fellowship
Mountain High Foundation
Living Waters Fellowship is a non-denominational church located two miles east of Quitman, TX. Mountain High is one of the eleven missions the membership sponsors on a monthly basis. During camp, Pastor David Hartley, leads the Hoe Down music and the daily worship service. His wife, Melissa, coordinates the talent show, organizes the door prize bags along with the game prizes. Many members write letters to the campers and usually a team of twelve members serve as counselors and camp volunteers. The church has been showering the campers with God's love since 2014.
Nocona Hills Church
NHCC is a non-denominational church located in the beautiful north Texas Hill country. The vibrant church supports Mountain High with the dedication of 30 volunteers who serve in a variety of meaningful ways--purchasing meal supplies and delivering them before camp, preparing and serving meals, playing games with the campers, leading worship, ministering to campers, and simply sharing God’s love throughout the week. Texas Pilot Clubs
Pilot International was founded in 1921 in Macon, GA. It is an international service organization. In 1991, Pilot's service focus became brain-related disorders and disabilities. In 1997, the Texas District of Pilot International adopted Traumatic Brain Injury Camps as the district's focus.
